On 4 November, a PRO-WILD field trial was sown at INRAE in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The experiment includes approximately 300 wheat introgression lines provided by the Germplasm Resources Unit at the John Innes Centre (UK).
The trial aims to assess grain quality and nutritional characteristics derived from crop wild relatives, contributing to PRO-WILD's pre-breeding activities. Early observations show homogeneous emergence across the field, indicating a smooth start to the experiment.
The first photos, taken in mid-December, document these early growth stages and mark an encouraging beginning to the season.
