Dana Bar-Zvi
PhD student at Weizmann Institute of Science

Professional Background:
- Academic Background: PhD student at Avi Levy's lab in the Plant & Environmental Sciences Department at the Weizmann Institute of Science. I previously completed my MSc in Naama Barkai & Avi Levy labs, a systems biology project about the genetic basis of hybrid vigour. This work included computational and wet lab work.
- Research Focus within PRO-WILD: In work package 1: Protect and promote wild emmer wheat (WEW). Sequencing and analysing historical and contemporary populations of WEW to map biodiversity, discover adaptive alleles, and design data-driven conservation strategies.
- Key interests/Expertise areas: Bioinformatics, biodiversity, evolution, next-generation sequencing (NGS), hybrids, fascinated by trade-offs :)
Why are you passionate about PRO-WILD's mission:
I get to try to do good in the world, with the aim of increasing food security sustainably and developing strategies for preserving wild wheat biodiversity. What could be better? =)
