Join Fascination of Plants Day 2026!
On 19 May 2026, the CREA Genomics and Bioinformatics Research Centre in Fiorenzuola d'Arda (Italy) will host a special event as part of the international Fascination of Plants Day 2026 initiative.
The event called, Face to Face with Genetics: Biodiversity, Genes, NGT, and Cultivated Fields, offers a unique opportunity to explore plant science through hands-on activities, guided visits, and direct interaction with researchers. Participants will be able to discover the biodiversity of cereals and horticultural crops, learn how genes influence plant traits, and understand how modern techniques support more sustainable agriculture.
The event is open to everyone — from students and researchers to anyone curious about plants and the science behind our food systems. By making research accessible and tangible, it aims to inspire a deeper appreciation of plant diversity and its importance for our future.
A global initiative — and a call to participate
Fascination of Plants Day is a worldwide initiative that brings together institutions, researchers, and plant enthusiasts to engage the public with plant science. The CREA event is just one example of how this can be done.
We encourage all partners and stakeholders to take part in Fascination of Plants Day 2026 — whether through a dedicated event, a small outreach activity, or simply by sharing knowledge and stories about plants. Every contribution helps to raise awareness and spark curiosity.
